They were developed within the BrAIn project and are educational programs intended for upper primary school students and secondary school students, implemented as an extracurricular activity or an elective subject.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What's new?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The new edition of the curricula is the result of action research conducted within the BrAIn project during the 2024\/2025 school year, in which teachers played an active role by monitoring implementation and providing recommendations for revision. Based on their insights, the curriculum content has been revised, along with adjustments to educational goals and learning outcomes, key topics, and recommendations for their implementation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a direct response to the needs of teachers who participated in the experimental implementation of the curricula, an accompanying document titled <a href=\"https:\/\/brain.hr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Pregled-alata.pdf\">Informative Overview of Tools for Teaching and Learning about Artificial Intelligence<\/a>has also been developed. The document provides a general overview of tools that can be used in AI-related teaching and learning activities and is intended to support teachers and other educational professionals in using artificial intelligence. It also includes important notes regarding their use in the educational process. The document is intended solely as support for teachers and does not represent official approval for the use of the listed tools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What's next?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>An important update is a structural change and adaptation of the previous curriculum for the 2nd and 3rd years of secondary school into an elective subject curriculum intended for 1st and 2nd-year students. At the same time, a curriculum for the 3rd and 4th years of secondary school is currently being developed, representing the next step in creating a comprehensive educational cycle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The goal is clear: starting from the next school year, curricula will be available to teachers and students covering learners from the 5th grade of primary school through the 4th year of secondary school, forming a unified educational pathway in which learning outcomes build progressively year by year, skills increase in complexity, and students become not only more proficient users of AI tools but also responsible participants in the digital society who use artificial intelligence to support their own thinking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who can implement the curricula and how?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The curricula can be implemented by all interested teachers - not only ICT teachers, but anyone who wishes to include AI education in their practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The curricula are not strict, prescriptive programs to be followed from beginning to end. On the contrary, they are designed as a flexible framework and starting point. Teachers decide which learning outcomes to include, in what order, and to what extent, taking into account their students\u2019 knowledge, skills, and interests, as well as their own competencies, experience, and pedagogical approach. In short, the curricula are neither an obligation nor a limitation\u2014teachers take what suits them and adapt it to their classroom and students.
